Our CEO Sherwin Charles has been in Montreal, Canada over the last week, busy trying to change the world for the better with other leaders from around the world --- and realise our dream of Africa becoming malaria free. It all starts with innovative financing initiatives and pledges from private donars. Last week at the Global Fund’s 2016 Replenishment Conference to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, US$250 million in pledges was reached for the coming three years, more than twice as much as in the previous period.
Private sector companies such as Goodbye Malaria play a pivotal role in the Global Fund partnership, contributing expertise that enhances the impact of programs supported by the Global Fund, in addition to contributing funding. Goodbye Malaria was one of eight partners The Global Fund acknowledged for their contributions, which included a pledge of $4-million.
